Pavement Crack Introduction:
It is a common pavement repair technology to pave asphalt surface on the old cement concrete pavement.
It has the advantages of short construction period, low cost, little impact on traffic, and good service performance of pavement repair. But the main problem is that reflection cracks are easy to appear in asphalt overlay, and setting geotextile is one of the main measures to delay reflection cracks.

Geotextile Treat Pavement Crack Examples:
For example, Baotou Iron and Steel Street road reconstruction project contracted in 2004. Iron and Steel Street was built in the 1950s. The middle of the expressway is a 7m wide cement concrete pavement, and the two sides are respectively a 6m and 6.5m wide asphalt concrete pavement.
Iron and Steel Street is the most important traffic trunk road in Baotou City, with a large traffic volume. Due to the lack of repair for a long time, the pavement is seriously damaged. The width of expansion joint between cement concrete plates is about 3-5cm, and the cracks of asphalt concrete pavement on both sides are also very serious.
In order to shorten the construction period, the old cement concrete panel is designed to be paved with asphalt geotextile, and 15 cm asphalt concrete surface course is added to it. The material of geotextile is hot-melt PET filament geotextile.
Geotextile Road Fabric Specification:
With unit area mass of 180g / m2, thickness < 1m m, breaking strength: transverse > 10.5kn/m, longitudinal > 9.5kn/m; longitudinal 5% tensile force ≥ 4.5kn/m, transverse 5% tensile force ≥ 5.0kn/m.
How to Install Geotextile in Road Construction?
1. Construction preparation
The old concrete pavement shall be cleaned before laying the geotextile layer in high temperature weather. The damaged part of the original plate shall be cleaned first and then leveled with C25 concrete. The surface flatness shall meet the requirements. The sundries in the expansion joint shall be removed. The lower part of the joint shall be filled with cement, sand and emulsified asphalt mixture, and the upper part shall be filled with asphalt mastic mixture.

2. Asphalt distribution
Ordinary hot asphalt is selected as the tack coat oil for asphalt material, and the asphalt distribution volume is controlled within 0.9-1.1kg/m2. The asphalt distribution is carried out by the distributor truck, and the excessive asphalt in some parts is removed in time, and the insufficient part is supplemented manually.
3. Laying Geotextile
The geotextile fabric for gravel driveway shall be laid before the asphalt cooling loses its cohesiveness. The geotextile shall be laid flat without folds and wrinkles. After laying, the geotextile shall be rolled with a tire roller to make it tightly combined. The geosynthetic fabric length is 15cm. If the geotextile is damaged and pasted badly, it shall be removed for re laying.
4. Asphalt mixture paving
The hot asphalt mixture should be spread immediately after the geotextile is laid, and the temperature should be controlled within 160 ℃. In order to facilitate the traffic of construction vehicles, some sand should be sprinkled on the geo fabric, and the asphalt mixture should be rolled immediately after the paving until it meets the requirements of the construction technical specifications.
During the construction of our company, the construction was carried out in strict accordance with the construction technical specifications and design drawings. It took only 78 days from commencement to completion, and the quality also stood the test. From June 2004 to now, after a cold winter, there is no reflection crack on the road surface.
